How do I assign Jobs?

How do I add a job?

You can add jobs in 2 different ways.

Firstly, you can create/add a job by going to Jobs > Create a job. This screen will outline all options and requirements for creating a job including which Job Template you are creating the Job on, who will be assigned the job and when the job will be assigned. You can also leave notes for the User receiving the job.

Alternatively, via the 'Planner' under the same header, you will see the tab 'Add Job' in the top bar. This option will also show you a map view of where all logged in users are.

Job Upload

You may have a number of Jobs that you wish to upload at once rather than manually adding jobs. This can easily be done using our Job upload template.

You can find the Upload Template via Jobs > Upload Jobs, from the menu in your GeoPal account.

Once you have downloaded the Template you will notice there are specific fields for all of your Job details. You can fill in as much information as needed, however, there are 2 fields which are mandatory and must be completed. The first mandatory fields is the Contact ID. The Contact ID is created in the CRM when adding company contacts which will be associated with certain Jobs. Similarly, the second mandatory field which is the Company ID is also created in the CRM. It may be the case that you do not have an associated Contact/Company if so you can add your own details to the CRM and use this in the Upload.

Important note: The ID of the company and contact needs to match what has been added to the GeoPal CRM exactly, any additions or special characters could cause an error in the upload.

Once you have filled in all details on the Upload Template and saved the Template to your device, you can then go to the Upload Jobs section again, this time to complete the process. In the same section you downloaded the Template you will see Upload instructions. Choose the saved file from your device, select the Job Template you want the jobs to be associated to and Upload.
