Viewing user location on Maps

From the Maps section in your GeoPal account you can see the Employee Map function. The Employee Map function allows you to track the current or last location of your users.

It is important to note that this function will only work if your users have agreed to the tracking settings when logging into GeoPal on their mobile device. In order to track the location of a user GeoPal needs the individuals permission to access this information we cannot force the user to accept and turn on these settings.

If the user has not agreed to these tracking settings when logging into the GeoPal mobile application then they can be accessed again via the Menu on the app. Simply select Menu in the top left hand corner of the Home screen on the app and go to Settings.

Select Location and Tracking, you will see a list of tracking options based on the accuracy and level of battery used when tracking.

Looking again at the web and our Employee Map function, once all users have agreed to the Location and tracking settings you will be able to see their current or last location. From this page you will see each employee as a pin on the Map, if the user is currently offline they will appear in Red, if they are online they will appear in Green.

Along the left hand side of the Map you will see all users. Above the list of users you have the option to filter by Team/Group as well as search for a specific user name. For each user you can see the Last Updated time meaning when they were last online, you can see the Latitude and Longitude of their current/last location and get the address details.

You can also change the Map type and drag and drop to different locations as you normally would using Google Maps.
